Steven F. Ballinger – pastor-elder 

  • Member since 1999
  • Ordained as elder in 2002
  • Adult Sunday school teacher.
  • Provides pulpit supply for the pastor-teacher about twice per year
  • Family has served with the ministry team at the Shawn Manor Nursing Home for the past 9 years.
  • Predominant spiritual gift is service.

Rex M. Branstetter – pastor-elder 

  • Member since 2001
  • Ordained as elder in May 2006
  • Youth Sunday school teacher and Wed. night meeting leader since 2002
  • Provides pulpit supply for the pastor-teacher about twice per year
  • Serves with the ministry team at the American Legion Children’s Home
  • Predominant spiritual gift is service.

C. Kevin Grant — pastor-elder for preaching
 

  • Pastor of Providence since 2009
  • Ordained in May 2003; ordained at PBC Sept. 2009
  • Responsible for preaching Sunday morning and evening services
  • Serves on the board of elders as full-time vocational elder
  • Responsible for biblical vision and theological fidelity to God’s Word
  • Also shares responsibilities with the ministry team at Shawn Manor Nursing Home
  • Predominant spiritual gifts are teaching, exhortation, and discernment.

Robert H. Vickery – pastor-elder

  • First became a member in 1983 under Pastor Doug Shivers ministry; spent five years in Texas from 2003 through 2007, returning to Ponca City and Providence Baptist in August 2007
  • Appointed as one of four initial elders in 1995 when the church voted to move to elder leadership; reinstated as an elder in 2007 upon return to Ponca city
  • Ordained to the pastoral ministry in 2003 by Providence Baptist Church
  • Taught youth and adult Sunday School classes at various times for extended periods
  • Predominant spiritual gifts are teaching and administration

Robert and his family have recently relocated to the Chicago area for Robert’s employment. He still serves Providence as an off-site elder and provides oversight on our church budget as well as helpful insights into ways we can improve as a local body of believers.

Deacons

We still have a need and availability for men who desire the office of Deacon. Men who meet the qualifications for this office enumerated in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 are encouraged to prayerfully consider this honorable calling and contact one of the elders listed above to make your willingness known.
